Who doesn’t want the house become a beautiful? And who doesn’t want to make it happens with a little budget only? Sorry, this is a little bit rhetoric. The question is, is it possible? Well, why so pessimist! Firstly, what I said “beautiful house” means:
- Energy-efficient that gets the light from sunlight through natural ventilation, using local or recycle material, and the maintain cost is cheap.
- Eco friendly house, shown from the availability of green open space in house area and the using of local potential. Adapting traditional house is one of the examples.
- There are interaction between interior and exterior.
- Appropriate with the owner character or certain philosophy.
You don’t have to spend much money to have it. You can try what I call “unfinished and material expose” method to save the cost of building and maintaining house. Yet, you still need a sense of art to make sure this won’t mess.
It’s sort of simple idea. For instance, it’s enough to apply only cement on the floor (cement expose) that installing marble. Not only can save your money, but cement floor also won’t look dirty easily and it doesn’t make oily look if you have not wash it yet.
Another idea, you can try to build the house without painting. Again, just apply cement expose. So you just have to cover the wall by cement mixture or just let the brick shown (brick expose). While you let the concrete become the ceiling. Just make sure the wall doesn’t dusty by that. How to avoid dust on cement/brick expose wall, I’ll write it later on a specific article.
By the way, if you want to recycle the old material, use the cut of ceramic or other material as wall decoration.
It’s fairly easy, right? All you have to do is explore your creativity and courage to make your house looks different.
